Applications
Industrial boiler combustion chambers and flue gas ducts where operating temperatures range from 800°C to 1300°CHot blast stoves and heat recovery systems in steel plants and foundries requiring moderate refractory performanceWaste incinerator primary and secondary combustion chambers subject to thermal cycling and chemical exposureCeramic kiln and brick kiln linings where uniform heat distribution and moderate refractoriness are the primary requirements
Fireclay bricks, commonly known as firebricks, are the most widely used refractory material in industrial heating applications worldwide. Manufactured from carefully selected fireclay raw materials with alumina contents of 30% to 48%, these bricks provide dependable refractory performance at temperatures up to 1610°C while offering the best value proposition among commercial refractory products. Their balanced combination of thermal shock resistance, mechanical strength, and cost-effectiveness makes them the standard lining choice for boilers, kilns, incinerators, and furnaces across virtually every industrial sector.
The thermal shock resistance of fireclay bricks stems from their unique microstructure, which combines crystalline mullite and cristobalite phases within a glassy silicate matrix. This composite structure allows the brick to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction stresses that would cause catastrophic failure in denser, less forgiving refractory materials. In boiler applications, where start-up and shutdown cycles subject the lining to repeated thermal transients, fireclay bricks maintain their structural integrity over thousands of operating hours, significantly reducing maintenance frequency and associated downtime.
Installation quality directly impacts refractory lining performance and longevity. Our fireclay bricks are manufactured with tight dimensional tolerances (±1mm) to ensure consistent joint thickness during laying, which is critical for maintaining structural integrity under thermal loading. Each brick undergoes visual inspection and dimensional verification before shipping. The bricks are compatible with standard air-setting and heat-setting refractory mortars, enabling straightforward installation by qualified refractory masons. For applications requiring custom shapes, our firebricks can be readily cut and machined on-site using standard masonry tools.
